Dorky
Frosty Spark - 1993 AQHA stallion - Reference Sire

Frosty has been at the ranch
since 1995. He was used for ranch work and trail rides for cowboys and
guests alike. With his mellow and laid back disposition he was the first
pick for the more inexperienced riders, yet he had the speed to run a cow
down when pasture roping with a ranch hand. He was pastured and corralled
with the ranch remuda, geldings and mares, without any problems. He was
out with the broodmare band for the last 8 years and has not been ridden
since. The pictures here are taken when we visited the mares, we could
just lay a rope over his head and lead him around.
Frosty passes his size (16
hands) and stout conformation on to his foals, as well as strong legs and
exceptional hard feet. His friendly and calm disposition gives his offspring
their pleasant and very easy trainable personality.

Dualin With
Cows - 2002 AQHA stallion - Reference Sire
 |
Dualin is the result of
a breeding program that put the top cutting sires together in this one-of-a-kind
stallion. Peppy San Badger, Doc's Hickory, Freckles Playboy and Smooth
Herman build the third generation on his papers, bred to daughters of Docs
Remedy, Kings Pistol, Doc Bar and Two Eyed Jack.
Despite all this high power
in his blood he is a very easy to handle stud, a breeze to train with a
willing attitude and friendly disposition. After a summer out on pasture
with the mares he goes right back to work at the ranch.
Dualin was not shown due
to our focus on raising cattle with the help of great horses.
With his first foal crop
turning two and three years old in 2011 we started several under saddle
and got feedback from buyers.
Our own experience and the
one of the buyers have a lot in common: they describe their young horses
as calm, smart, very trainable and quick on their feet.

This is the second year
we bred our best broodmare "Tempesta" to our cutting bred stud Dualin With
Cows. Her thickness and stamina paired with his cowsense and quickness
gave us a beautiful, heavy muscled filly in 2011, and her 2012 filly sure
looks like a halter prospect with a cow working future too!

Jeep lost her 2011 foal,
thus we are really looking forward to her 2012 baby. We consider her our
best broodmare who throws stout, well build horses which perform great
on the ranch and in the arena. Many of her daughters can be found in our
broodmare band.

us. Her 2010 stud colt was the first pick in his year, and we kept her
2009 filly - best filly of that year. Also her 2011 filly will join our
broodmare band when she is grown. This years foal will be by our cutting
bred stallion Dualin With Cows, this will be a cross that has all the breeding
to become competitive in any cow horse event.

The combination of our roan
mare "Roxanne" with our Peppy San Badger and Freckles Playboy bred stud
never fails to produce an outstanding foal. They are beauties with elegance,
alertness and charisma, heavy muscled and fine heads. That her foals, so
far, always have been roans doesn't hurt either.

every year. Her 2010 stud colt, a full brother to this filly, looks like

looks and breeding. Coming from the best working cow and cutting lines
in the industry; with Smart Little Lena, Peppy San Badger, Doc's Hickory,
and Doc's Juniper right on her papers, this 2011 filly looks exactly as
her full brothers and sisters. The 2012 foal will be the last with this
magical cross - it will most likely not be for sale but a keeper.
